Split cd reunindo duas bandas de Death/Black Metal polonesas Throneum e Revelations of Doom. A primeira citada é quem inicia o play com dois sons próprios “Exhibition of Abomination” e “Full Enlightenment” mostrando que a proposta da banda é tocar Death/Black Metal com uma pegada tradicional com passagens cadenciadas e agressivas, em seguida os caras mandam quatro covers fudidos: “Tormentor (Destruction), “We Are Satan's Generation” (Impaled Nazarene), “Execute Them All” (Unleashed) e “Darkness” (Morgoth), em seguida é a vez do Revelation of Doom também mostrar dois sons próprios “Sodomizing The Trinity” e “Holy Grail, Holy Flesh” onde percebemos que a proposta dos caras é também tocar Death/Black Metal porém de forma mais tosca e ríspida, em seguida o Revelations of Doom manda cinco covers também fudidos: “The Third of The Storms” (Hellhammer), “Need to Live” (Terrorizer), “Witching Metal” (Sodom), “Unholy Existence” (Pandemonium) e finalizando com “Gods of War” (Blasphemy). Ta płyta jest jak dobry film pornograficzny. Akcja jest wartka i toczy się w zawrotnym tempie. Główni bohaterowie poczynają sobie śmiało, ich działania cechuje zaskakujący zapał, entuzjazm i umiejętność zrobienia dobrze partnerowi w każdej, czasami nawet wymagającej akrobatycznych zdolności pozycji. Na "Total Regression!" Throneum jak oraz Revelation of Doom harcują i figlują aż miło. Obie kapele prężą się i gimnastykują chędożąc repertuar heavy metalowych klasyków. Mija się z celem publikowanie w tym miejscu zawartości powyższego przedsięwzięcia, wszystkie te informacje są ogólnie dostępne i w odniesieniu do charakteru całości pełnią drugoplanową rolę. Istotne jest, że pierwszoplanowi aktorzy spektaklu znają swój fach i jak słychać ich kończyny oraz wprawiane nimi w ruch instrumenty doskonale odnajdują się bezceremonialnie flirtując ze sztandarowymi hymnami takiego Impaled Nazarene, czy innego Terrorizer. Zgadza się, w przypadku tego typu wydawnictw ciężko jest doszukać się dziewiczej myśli twórczej. Receptą na utyskiwania zakompleksionych wizjonerów niech będzie tytuł krążka określający jego programowe założenia oraz fakt, że chroniczny brak dziewic wśród dam prezentujących swoje zdolności aktorskie w filmach dla dorosłych nie ujmuje widowiskowości tymże obrazom. "Total Regression!" to także cztery autorskie premierowe kompozycje, po dwie na każdy zespół, które wraz z zestawem na nowo zinterpretowanych szlagierów stanowią świetną, niezobowiązującą rozrywkę. Polecam wszystkim bezpruderyjnym zwolennikom bezkompromisowej muzyki i równie mocnego kina akcji.

Although this album contains 13 tracks, only two new tracks per band were included at this split, the rest of the songs correspond to several covers of diverse and influential bands within the Death, Black and Thrash Metal scene… The first half of this album belongs to Throneum; this blasphemous duo opens the album with “Exhibition of Abomination”, a dense piece of mid paced Blackened Death Metal, the guitar work is solid and obscure, with an intense blackened vibe, somewhat reminiscent to Hellhammer… the vocals of Tomasz deliver here an intense Black Metal feeling, even without using high tuned shrieks… just some evil and violent mid tuned growling shrieks. The second track, “Full Enlightenment”, continues with the evil atmospheres created at the previous track, but this time with a fast, blasting Death/Black Metal piece, where the chaotic drumming drives the music, complemented by a killer storm of dense and violent riffs… After these two brand new compositions Throneum start paying homage to their influences, opening with “Tormentor” a frenetic and obscure cover of Destruction. After that, the most unexpected cover of the entire album, “We Are Satan's Generation” a cover to the Finnish masters of blasting Crust/Black Metal Impaled Nazarene, played in the Throneum’s characteristical style. Then “Execute Them All” (Unleashed cover) comes with tons of pounding rhythms and magnificent old school Death Metal feeling. Closing this half is “Darkness”, a doomy and obscure instrumental piece originally recorded by Morgoth. The second half of this split belongs to Revelation Of Doom; “Sodomizing The Trinity” opens this half, with a brutal piece of blasphemous Death Metal with some strong Thrash Metal traces and even some slight Black Metal hints, all these conjugated by a solid old school feeling… The following track, “Holy Grail, Holy Flesh”, is a profane, vicious and impious piece of Black/Death Metal played mostly at full speed, but harmonized by tenebrous, slow doomy Death Metal passages… definitely a killer track! After these two impressive tracks, “The Third Of The Storm”, a cover of Black Metal pioneers Hellhammer comes, reaffirming the band’s commitment with the dirty and cruel old school sound. After that, “Need To Live”, a grinding and brutal cover of Terrorizer. Then an obscurely played version of Sodom’s “Witching Metal”, perfectly fitting with the whole Revelation Of Doom style. The penultimate track is “Unholy Existence”, a cover song of the Polish Death Metal veterans Pandemonium and finally there’s “Gods Of War” a short and blasting Blasphemy cover… Even when all these cover-songs are definitely a cool idea (although it has been done many times before), the real contribution of this album rests in the four original tracks included here; these songs are definitely an interesting sample of the labour of these two rising Polish underground acts. Lo que aquí tengo es uno de los splits más esperados (por mí) que une a las dos bandas polacas Throneum y Revelation of Doom titulado "Total Regression".
El Split lo abre Throneum con 6 temas, dos de ellos originales y 4 versiones y menudas versiones!!! "Tormentor" (Destruction), "We are Satans Generation" (Impaled Nazarene), "Execute Them All" (Unleashed) y para acabar... una guinda!!! "Darkness" (Morgoth). Los temas nuevos siguen la misma línea de siempre Black/Death muy mezclado con tintes Thrasheros y al más puro estilo underground, con un excelente sonido, realmente crudo y oxidado, pero sin saturar ni colapsar la escucha.
Y es que no nos enganemos, estos polacos siguen firmes y a pesar de no evolucionar o innovar logran mantener al oyente pendiente tema tras tema y más aún transmitiendo ese feeling de la vieja escuela, que sólo unos cuantos saben o logran mantener!!. Respecto a las versiones, pues no diré mucha cosa ya que son absolutamente de obligada escucha. No diré que superan a las originales pero sí consiguen estar a un mismo nivel. Y personalmente, me quedo sobretodo con las dos últimas!!
Revelation of Doom es una nueva promesa polaca, bajo mi punto de vista, y nos sorprende con un Death metal con una fuerte dosis de Thrash y de Black de los 90 y con cierto regustillo a Vader.
Revelation of Doom abren con dos temas propios seguidos de 5 versiones (pero no contaría la última "Gods of War" de los Blasphemy ya que la utilizan de outro) Y si las versiones de Throneum no tenían desperdicio... estas tampoco!! "The Third of the Storms" (Hellhammer), Need to Live (Terrorizer) increible por cierto, "Witching Metal" (Sodom), "Unholy Existence" (Pandemonium) y "Gods of War" (Blasphemy). Y repito lo mismo, las versiones tal vez no superen a las originales (esto es muy subjetivo) pero escucharlas no tiene precio alguno!!!.
Pero bueno, escuchando los dos temas propios os puedo decir que siguen la línea de su anterior larga duración "Unholy Goatfuck", tal vez los temas estén más trabajados, con un mayor protagonismo del Death metal, y con un sonido algo más oscuro pero a la vez más trabajado. Pero igualmente pienso que para no ser temas originales y fuertemente influenciados por bandas del estilo de Throneum, Nunslaughter, Incarnated, etc tienen unos temas directos y sin contemplaciones que desde luego a uno no le pasan desapercibidos y disfruta con cada uno de ellos.
En definitiva un split cojonudo, con más de media hora de asedio de un Black/Death /Thrash corrosivo, de la vieja escuela y oscuro realmente salvaje.

This split is killer aggression from both bands and I definitely love that it consists in original tunes from both bands and also covers from great bands such as Sodom, Destruction, Impaled Nazarene, Hellhammer. This split is pure aggression with raw sound and frantic riffs that will delight lovers of thrash metal, black metal and also death metal. Both bands approach the covers really well adding their own personality to them and making them different while faithful to the original version. The original songs are also pure aggression unleashed and they fit really well with the covers. A split cd that is worth the price !

Bax, it is Split, I expected its output with impatience from that moment, when Pagan rex only announced it! And, the promo-package with fresh, with a hot disk, has intruded my life, thus having brought in it... Old-school fucking DEATH METAL!!! Who does not know Polish THRONEUM? Really, are there such? If yes, that, dear, you have lost MUCH! THRONEUM, Polish collective, since the first day of the existence playing Real Metal, without any trendy crap. And given stuff is not exception, such sensation, that plays record of years '87-' 88. All these gloomy, really beating to a wall, fast reefs, storm force carried by in yours ears, at all to turning out acoustical system. On Split only two new songs, and... About yes! 4 magnificent covers on: DESTRUCTION, IMPALED NAZARENE, UNLEASHED, MORGOTH. Music, breaking a roof. What that there mad technique is not present, it is one of the joyful facts too, main, at the musicians is technical playing of all musicians together, and skill to inform the gloomy ideas through music. The musicians know, that want, and they want Death Metal, yes it is not simple Death Metal, but Death Metal, from which smells by a crude cold of a hopelessness, gloom and... Ancient Metal! As two songs, and covers, were carried by mad rhythm, but it would be desirable again and again! But at us here yet one group, now we shall disassemble with them also.
Well and further there is too nominal group of Poland - REVELATION OF DOOM. Let's try to it... As well as it was necessary to expect, REVELATION OF DOOM not less true and dedicated Metal Worshippers! Here we have Music '80 too, but more in thrash Metal spirit. It is death Metal, but densely involved on these fast, squeezing out soul thrash Metal reefs. Therefore, we can name it death-thrash, naturally, with a word old-school. Music is fast, rigid, really gloomy and impregnated by contempt. Everyone reef, each chord, each melody, all these are simply bewitches, strong takes in the embraces, and does not let off up to the end of playing time! Really infernal adjust, atmosphere which is carrying away back in the past... I do not know, how to whom, but for me similar records - on weight of gold, and group, to this day playing THIS - on weight of platinum! Indescribably severe and gloomy music, without influences of a style and tendencies. Two songs, plus covers on: (Naturally) HELLHAMMER, TERRORIZER, SODOM, PANDEMONIUM, BLASPHEMY. I essentially shall not to do any comparisons of THRONEUM and REVELATION OF DOOM with other groups, as those who knows and appreciates similar things, knows itself, that here and as, well those who aspires behind a style - basically, can and not try on taste, as can not estimate, and understand that play these groups. Well and for the judges of the REAL METAL I shall tell - Split Invaluable! And huge respect to the chieves Pagan Records for support of the Real Music!

Wkroczycie do świata zdominowanego przez pierwotne zło, gdzie pejzaż muzycznych barw kreuje przede wszystkim czerń. To podróż do czasów, kiedy ze słowem "metal" kojarzone było wszystko co brzydkie i odpychające, a jednocześnie tak bardzo prawdziwe i niszczące. Znajdziecie się u źródła, z którego pili czarcią polewkę twardziele z DESTRUCTION, IMPALED NAZARENE, UNLEASHED, MORGOTH, HELLHAMMER, TERRORIZER, SODOM, PANDEMONIUM i BLASPHEMY. Utwory tychże bandów znalazły się na tym wydawnictwie. Zostały znakomicie wykonane. THRONEUM i REVELATION OF DOOM wiedzą doskonale jak ukazać ducha tamtych czasów. Współwinni tego splitu dołożyli po dwa swoje autorskie numery "pachnące" siarką i smołą tak samo intensywnie jak wyżej wskazanych potworów. Chyba nikt nie spodziewa się po tym wydawnictwie miłych i "głaszczących" narządy słuchu dźwięków??? Zostaniecie wepchnięci dobrowolnie lub pod przymusem do czarnej otchłani, a następnie wychłostani po pysku ekstremalnym i obskurnym metalem. To co zrodzone z talentu w sposób naturalny, niewymuszony i pozbawiony jakiejkolwiek kalkulacji, zawsze pozostanie atrakcyjne, niezależnie od tego w jakiej powstało formie. Pozornie nieatrakcyjna muzyka prezentowana przez THRONEUM i REVELATION OF DOOM jest taka, jaki z założenia miał być metal: bezpośredni, niszczący i nieładny, nie pozostawiający słuchacza przy życiu... Dziś niewiele z tego już zostało, więc tym bardziej należy poznać ten stuff! To swego rodzaju hołd dla czasów minionych... dla czasów, kiedy rodził się ekstremalny metal... REKOMENDUJĘ!!!

Aztan kovetkezik 4 nagyon jol sikerult feldolgozas, a notakat teljesen a sajat kepukre formaltak, death metalositottak a Destruction klasszikus Tormentor notajat, az Impaled Nazarene We Are Satan’s Generation atirata is nagyon rendben van, akarcsak az Unleashed Execute Them All slagere, viszont a Morgoth Darkness feldolgozasabol hianyzik az igazi sotet hangulat, ami az eredetinek nagy erenye. A szinten lengyel Revelation Of Doom kovetkezik ezutan, ilyen nevvel nem is lehet mast nyomni, csakis os, Hellhammer alapu black/death metal egyveleget. A ket sajat notajuk kozul az elso olyan mint egy regi Sodom nota, ugy a Persecution Mania korszakbol. Ok 5 atirattal zarjak a CD-t (Hellhammer, Terrorizer, Sodom, Pandemonium, Blasphemy). Ezek kozul talan a Terrorizer Need To Live-je sikerult a legjobban. Fans of classic death metal will find this release of note as Throneum, a group that has been blasting out hymns to the abyss since 1996, teams up with Polish countrymen Revelation Of Doom for a split with a vibe that harkens back to the early days of extreme music.
Splits are often a great way for fans to get to know bands they have been previously unfamiliar with. On "Total Regression!,' you'll uncover two original cuts from each artist and a total of nine covers. With this sort of disc, you know where each band is coming from and in practice, the idea works quite well.
Each of the groups are heavily influenced by Venom, so it's a real shock that there's no homage to the black metal inventors on this disc, but Throneum and ROD each give their take on Germanic thrash, with the former chipping in an excellent take on "Tormentor" by Destruction and the latter bursting through a raw-as-fuck rendition of "Witching Metal" by Sodom. A cover of Terrorizer's "Need To Live" by ROD is probably the most out of place track on this split, but the band makes up for that average grindcore nod with a killer take on "The Third Of The Storms" by Hellhammer and a ripping cover of Blasphemy's "Gods Of War."
Throneum rips through the Impaled Nazarene tune "We Are Satan's Generation" with no mercy whatsoever, the abrasive production quality lending further blackness to the feel of the cut. Also of note, the group takes on "Execute Them All" from Unleashed, turning the song on it's ear with an aggressive war metal feel.
Of the originals to be found here, veterans Throneum win out with both of the band's cuts being full throttle ragers. Check "Full Enlightenment" for an example of just how much this act has progressed over the years.
For those who like it loud as hell and fast as fuck, you'll find your neck sore with just a few spins of this cultish underground eruption.

A tasty split package here from two of the greatest purveyors of old school death metal in existence today. "Total Regression!" showcases Poland's Throneum and Revelation Of Doom blasting through a series of covers from the likes of Impaled Nazarene, Terrorizer, Unleashed and Hellhammer as well as showcase a couple of originals, all sounding as lethal and barbaric as you would expect.
Throneum kick things off with six tracks of dirty, gritty death metal opening proceedings with "Exhibition Of Abomination" and pretty much summing up what this band of metal maniacs are all about within the first couple of seconds. Refreshingly primitive in a age where death metal means playing more arpeggios and odd time signatures than the last band, Throneum put more genuine feeling into their material than most bands in this genre can only dream of. As far as their covers go, Throneum rage through Destruction's "Tormentor", Impaled Nazarene's "We Are Satan's Generation", the Unleashed classic and outstanding "Execute Them All" and the Morgoth instrumental/outro "Darkness" with flair and aggression, sticking to the originals pretty rigidly complete with some of the most vicious vocals you are ever likely to hear. Quite the contribution I think you'll agree.
Whereas Throneum play in that loose n' ready approach that made acts like Autopsy so fucking amazing, Revelation of Doom harness a much tighter and all together brighter sound, complete with razor sharp riffing and super fast blasting. A more than blatant Terrorizer influence permeates originals "Sodomizing The Trinity" and "Holy Blood, Holy Flesh" with spatterings of Vader thrown in for good measure. Boosted by a punchy and crisp production, their cover contributions of Hellhammer's "The Third Of The Storms", Pandemonium's "Unholy Existence", Terrorizer's "Need To Live", "Witching Metal" by Sodom and Blasphemy's "Gods Of War" sound both powerful and fresh, again sticking close to the originals without loosing any of that bludgeoning brutality.
While this retro bulge is gradually sticking further and further out of the dank, sweaty skin of the extreme music underground, it has to be said that few do it better and more convincingly than the two artists that share this disk. It is one of many reasons "Total Regression!" should not be missed by anyone.

Voila un split de groupes polonais, « Total Regression », dans lequel nous retrouvons « Throneum » et « Revelation of Doom ». Commençons par « Throneum » qui ouvre la galette. Voila un groupe de Death polonais qui ne fait pas du Death polonais dans le sens propre du terme. « Throneum » pratique un style Death/ Thrash/ Black a l’ancienne, tres 80’s, 90’s et se revendique lui meme comme n’étant ni original, ni un progres musical. Il pratique un style raw et agressif a l’ancienne. Le groupe existe depuis 1996 et une chose est sure, les polonais ne chôment pas, puisqu’ils ont sortis quatre EP, quatre LP, un live, dix split, rien que ça, dont la plupart sont sold out. En voila donc un nouveau, le groupe aime vraiment les split.
« Throneum » est une référence pour les fan de Thrash/ Black underground, mais seul deux titres leur appartenant vont permettre de juger de leur qualité de composition, puisque sur six titres, quatre sont des reprises. On retrouve « Destruction », « Impaled Nazarene », « Unleashed » et « Morgoth ».
Des le début de l’écoute, effectivement on plonge dans le passé, ça sonne tres old school, la musique rappel « Terrorizor », « Blasphemy », « Asphyx ». Le son est bien roots, la production est faite pour sonner 80’s, le chant est Thrash/Death caverneux, il rappel énormément celui des premiers « Sepultura ». Les riffs ne sont pas tres recherchés mais c’est bien joué, l’ambiance est la, les fans de la premiere période métal extreme ne pourront qu’aimer, car nous réserverons « Throneum » a eux seuls, les autres risquant d’etre déconcertés par le style et la production de« Throneum ». C’est du bon, mais pas pour toutes les oreilles. Petit bémol par contre pour les reprises, deux titres, c’est vraiment plus que léger et j’aurais préféré d’autres morceaux du groupe qu’avoir autant de reprises, surtout qu’a la différence des compos de « Throneum », je les trouve sans intéret. Ceux qui accrochent a la musique préféreront donc forcement "Decade of Necrosturpimical Madness" et le mini "The Unholy Ones".
« Revelation of Doom » est un groupe bien plus récent, puisque crée en 2005 par l’ancien guitariste de « Hate », « Kaos », « Longinus » de « Shrapnel's » et « Amon », ancien batteur de « Method ».
Un sample vocal pour commencer et on rentre dans le vif du sujet, on retrouve ici un mélange du style polonais et de Thrash, c’est plutôt intéressant du coup, malheureusement, a l’instar de « Throneum », seul deux titres appartiennent au groupe, le reste étant des reprises, cinq cette fois. On retrouve donc « Hellhammer », « Terrorizer », « Sodom », « Pandemonium », « Blasphemy ». C’est tout de meme dommage, car le style musical est accrocheur, grosses rythmique bien thrashy, une voix d’outre tombe, une production a l’ancienne mais qui ne manque pas de puissance, un coté limite post punk a la « Impaled Nazarene » sur les blasts du deuxieme morceau, parties ambiantes ultra lourdes, riffs tres « Hate » dans l’approche, on en redemande. Le style est bien plus actuel que « Throneum » et l’écoute de « Revelation of Doom » touchera donc l’ensemble du public Death, mais il faudra cette fois plus se tourner vers "Unholy Goatfuck » parut en 2006 pour apprécier un plus grand nombre de titres du groupe.
Ces deux groupes sont vraiment excellents meme si pas forcement originaux, petite préférence a « Revelation of Doom », meme si « Throneum » est tres bon dans son style. Des groupes intéressants, mais je conseillerais plutôt de vous procurer leurs albums respectifs, car comme je le disais les reprises sont vraiment dispensables, contrairement aux compos des deux groupes.
Je note donc le peu d’intéret de la galette, deux titres c’est trop léger, par contre la qualité des groupes est la...

This split records offers 2 new songs from each band and plenty covers. Throneum opens the split with 2 new tracks in the right vein of what they played before. The introduction track "Exhibition Of Abomination" is a mid pace old school Death Metal hymn directly influenced by Hellhammer with the pounding guitar riffs. The following title is a short but fast material from these Polish and once again the Hellhamer touch is definitely present. Then Throneum covers Destruction through "Tormentor", "We Are Satan's Generation"/Impaled Nazarene, "Execute Them All"/Unleashed, "Darkness" from Morgoth. All the cover are extremely well executed and carry the 90's feeling for sure. We now reach Revelation OF Doom, a band I've never heard before. So here again this band presents us 2 of their songs. So here again ROD is into early Death Metal with a raspy vocal and a strong old school touch. Actually both bands are in the right vein. Then 5 good covers of Hellhammer "The Third OF The Scorns", "Need To Live" Terrorizer, "Witching Metal" Sodom, "Unholy Existence" Pandemonium, "Gods Of War" Blasphemy. I don't know why these bands decided to cover so much songs for their split as actually there're 9 covers of 13 tracks.

Koen: In mijn bespreking van Throneum's 'Decade Of Necrostuprumical Madness' gaf ik aan dat "dit Poolse trio, bestaande uit Tomasz "The Great Executor", Marek "Termonuclear Philosopher" en Maras "Necrosodomic Corpse Molestator" de wereld in rap tempo zal blijven bestoken met allerlei materiaal. Zo zitten de volgende releases bereids in de koker: 'Mutiny Of Death' picture LP, (Apocalyptor Records), 'Pestilent Death' CD/LP (Apocalyptor Records), 'Unholy Ones' MCD/MLP (via Aura Mystique) en split EP's en tapes met verscheidene bands, zoals Devilry, Incriminated, Gravewurm, Nunslaughter, Lord Blasphemer, Morbosidad en Crucifer".
Voor zover ik weet is geen een van bovenstaande plaatjes tot nu toe verschenen en het verbaasde me dan ook ten zeerste dat ik ineens van Pagan Records 'Total Regression!', een split CD van Throneum en Revelation Of Doom in mijn klauwen gedrukt kreeg, want die stond "niet op de kaart" (om met Lingo te spreken). De CD klokt zo'n 40 minuten, elke band heeft hiervoor twee nieuwe nummers aangeleverd en een rits coverversies.
Throneum trapt af met hun eigen nummers, te weten 'Exhibition Of Abomination' en 'Full Enlightenment', gevolgd door covers van Destruction ('Tormentor'), Impaled Nazarene ('We Are Satan's Generation'), Unleashed ('Execute Them All') en Morgoth ('Darkness'). Revelation Of Doom probeert ons Hellhammer ('The Third Of The Storms'), Terrorizer ('Need To Live'), Sodom ('Witching Metal'), Pandemonium ('Unholy Existence') en Blasphemy ('Gods Of War') te doen vergeten en levert twee nieuwe nummers af 'Sodomizing The Trinity' en 'Holy Grail', 'Holy Flesh'.
Ik heb me best geamuseerd met deze CD, de eigen nummers klinken baggervet en de covers zijn best smakelijk, maar (en er is altijd een maar….) ik denk dat de meeste zichzelf respecterende deathrashers de originele versies al gewoon in huis hebben staan dus dat schiet niet op. Al met al betaal je dan de volle mep voor vier nieuwe nummers. Ik prefereer dan ook volledige CD's van beide bands dan dit soort vullertjes!

Splity mają to do siebie, że zazwyczaj zawierają muzykę młodych zespołów, które dopiero stawiają pierwsze kroki i jeszcze nie mogą się przebić lub nie mają zarejestrowanej większej ilości materiału, aby wydać samodzielne wydawnictwo. Omawiany tutaj krążek zaskakuje pod dwoma względami – po pierwsze, o ile Revelation Of Doom jest młodym zespołem, o tyle Throneum istnieje od ponad 10 lat i ma za sobą już niezliczoną liczbę wydawnictw. Kolejnym faktem jest to, że zespoły porozumiały się, iż zagrają po 2 nowe utwory autorskie, a reszta to będą covery zespołów, którymi się inspirują.
Pierwsze sześć utworów grane jest przez Throneum. Zespół prezentuje dość prymitywny death/black z krzyczanym wokalem. Muzyka brzmi brudno, surowo, bębny brzmią pusto, a muzyka sprawia wrażenie dzikiej. Tu i ówdzie rozbrzmiewają echa samego Morbid Angel (riff otwierający „Exhibition of abomination” przypomina bardzo „Fall from grace"). Moim zdaniem zespół o wiele lepiej wypada w wolnych fragmentach, gdyż brzmi wtedy chwytliwie. Gdy tempo zostaje podkręcone, Throneum obnaża swój prymitywizm. Wśród coverów znalazły się utwory Destruction „Tormentor”, Impaled Nazarene „We are Satan’s generation”, Unleashed „Execute them all” oraz Morgoth „Darkness”. Na szczególną uwagę zasługuje cover Unleashed, który najbardziej zapada w pamięć.
Zadziwia mnie jednak fakt, że grający dużo krócej Revelation Of Doom wypadają na tym tle zdecydowanie lepiej. Muzykę zespołu określiłbym jako prymitywny death’n’roll, co potwierdzają obydwa autorskie utwory. Jeśli chodzi o cover to otrzymaliśmy nowe wersje Hellhammer „The third of the storms”, Terrorizer „Need to live”, Sodom „Witching metal”, Pandemonium „Unholy existence” oraz Blasphemy „Gods of war”. Bardzo podoba mi się pełna blastów wersja „Need to live” natomiast cover Hellhammer wyszedł odrobinę bez polotu. Zaskakuje fakt, że zespołowi udało się przemycić do utworów tego death’n’rolla, przez co utwory przykuwają uwagę.
Zasadniczą wadą tego wydawnictwa jest to, że przynosi ono w większości covery a nie autorskie kompozycje. Na pewno nie jest to miarodajnym wyznacznikiem wartości obu zespołów, ale do piwka tej płytki można posłuchać.

Well mostly likely is to start this review with one big hail to death metal legions. Throneum is one of known death metal bands with reputation and first time I have heard for them was in Invidia fanzine. After gathering some of the recordings I really got to know quite good the music of the band. Now again I meet these legionnaires with split of band that I also heard of Revelation of doom. They present a split to us with two songs from each band and few more covers. Both bands did excellent job considering music. Although at some point maybe and little bit of better mastering would have been a full hit. Throneum did covers for Tormentor (Destruction), We are Satan's Generation from Impaled Nazarene which I find interesting considering the genre of the band, Execute them all (Unleashed), and Darkness (Morgoth). As for ROD they did The third of the storms (Hellhammer), Need to live (Terrorizer), Witching metal (Sodom), Unholy Existence (Pandemonium), and Gods Of War (Blasphemy). It is encouraging that bands did songs that are not usual to be covered which I find quite well. And two songs from bands are not less quality that covers that bands did so who ever is in good mood to listen to some quality death metal I suggest that he should get this release.

Split CDs können für beide Parteien, Band und Hörer, einige Vorteile bergen. Für die Musikkonsumenten dient eine Solche oft als passable Möglichkeit neue Bands eines bestimmten Sektors kennen zu lernen. Die Band zahlt natürlich nur jeweils die Hälfte der Produktionskosten und kann somit ihre Musik relativ kostengünstig verbreiten und nebenbei noch durch ihren Split Partner auf sich aufmerksam machen, insofern der Ein oder Andere Hörer die Scheibe vielleicht aufgrund des Partners kauft. In diesem Falle haben sich die beiden Black/Death Truppen THRONEUM und REVELATION OF DOOM zu einer gemeinsamen CD zusammen getan. Geboten bekommt man hier von jeder Band je zwei selbst komponierte Stücke und ein ganzes Arsenal voll Coversongs bekannter Kapellen.
Die auf dieser Zusammenkunft alten Haudegen THRONEUM machen den Anfang und legen mit ihren beiden selbst geschmiedeten Stücken ordentlich Briketts ins Feuer. Die raue aber akzeptable Produktion verleiht der ebenso unbearbeiteten musikalischen Machart der zwei Polen ordentlich Nachdruck und lässt das Ganze doch deutlich eher in schwarze Gefilde schreiten. Nachgelegt wird dann schließlich mit Cover Songs von unter anderem UNLEASHED und IMPALED NAZARENE, die wirklich sehr gut gelungen sind, da die räudigen Keif Vocals den beiden Songs neuwertige atmosphärische Mäntel umlegen. Damit können THRONEUM sowohl mit eigenen Ideen als auch im „Karaoke Part“ von deren Qualitäten überzeugen, außerdem wird deren unheimlich aggressive Ader wohl kaum zu überbieten sein.
Genau wie erwartet kann die frische Band REVELATION OF DOOM, die mit dieser Split erst ihr zweites Werk hervorbringt, nicht ganz mit dem vorhergehenden Material mithalten. Deren Auftritt ist keineswegs schlecht, demnach kann sich der erste Song „Sodomizing the Trinity“ sogar qualitätsmäßig noch an dem grandiosen Anfang orientieren. Die mehr Death Metallastigen folgenden Stücke dagegen sind nur noch sehr schwer voneinander zu unterschieden und können somit das Interesse meinerseits nicht mehr ganz aufrechterhalten. Lediglich das flotte SODOM Cover „Witching Metal“ erreicht noch mal den Höhepunkt des hier gebotenen Stoffes von REVELATION OF DOOM, da es stilistisch vergleichbar mit deren Opener ist. Insgesamt bleibt mir trotzdem auch der Einsatz der „Youngster“ positiv in Erinnerung.
Trotz der gnadenlosen Überflutung dieses Untergenres, haben sich hier zwei Bands zusammen gefunden, die ihre Arbeit durchaus verstehen und sich auch in Zukunft sicher nicht bloß hinter Coversongs verstecken müssen. Wer also nahrhaftes, im Gedächtnis bleibendes Futter in diesem Bereich sucht, sollte sich neben der SATHANAS MCD gleichermaßen diese Split zweier guter Bands zulegen. Ich für meinen Teil bin bereits auf kommendes Material eingestimmt sowie gespannt.

Ta płyta była skazana na maksymalną notę w mojej recenzji od samego początku. Po pierwsze, znany już dobrze w podziemnych kręgach prawie kultowy Threoneum - zespół nie ma na koncie materiału którego mógłby się wstydzić, i od lat napieprza czarny jak zad rogatego piekielny Death / Black Metal. Po drugie Revelation Of Doom: o kapeli jest coraz głośniej (tam gdzie trzeba rzecz jasna), i mam wrażenie że po wspomnianym Throneum Revelation Of Doom będzie kolejnym potężnym bandem naszego podziemia, którym będziemy mogli się chwalić w rozmowach z Metal maniax z zagranicy. Po trzecie: stara podziemna idea, czyli Split CD, do tego "stara" oprawa graficzna. Nie liczy się, że tak nie wypada, że teraz są ładne digipaki czy inne video bonusy. Jest surowo, just brudno, jest Metalowo! Po czwarte: rewelacyjny materiał muzyczny obu zespołów. To już nawet nie jest muzyka, to styl bycia. Głośniki stają w ogniu, aż chce się tego słuchać z vinyla zamiast CD (pewnie niedługo będzie?)! Piekielna dawka zardzewiałych ćwieków, pasy z nabojami, ramoneska która cuchnie jakby ktoś ją ściągnął z trupa... I wszystko jasne?! Na dokładkę dostajemy zestaw coverów który spowodował automatyczne wyszczerzenie zębów na mojej gębie: Destruction, Impaled Nazarene, Unleashed, Morgoth, Hellhammer, Terrorizer, Sodom, Pandemonium, Blasphemy. Mam smutne podejrzenia, że niedługo jakiś półmózg i tak wrzuci ten zacny materiał w formie plików mp3 do internetu, jednakże wszystkim myślącym i wiedzącym o co w Metalu tak naprawdę chodzi, polecam zaopatrzenie się w oryginał. Warto jak diabli! Ocena 10/10

Trzeba przyznać, że pomysł tego wydawnictwa nie jest częstym zjawiskiem na polskiej scenie. Próbka materiału premierowego, do tego covery takich kolosów jak Terrorizer, Destruction, Unleashed, Morgoth, Hellhammer, Sodom, Blasphemy i Pandemonium. Brzmi całkiem zachęcająco, a co w środku? Otwierając "Total Regression" na pierwszy ogień idzie każdemu znany Throneum z dwoma nowymi kawałkami. Jest to nic innego jak kontynuacją zdziczałego death metalu, jakim panowie przyzwyczaili się nas nawiedzać przez poprzednie płyty, splity. Covery jakie zaserwowano to między innymi Destruction - "Tormentor", Morgoth - "Darkness" i moim zdaniem najlepszy ze wszystkich Unleashed "Excute Them All". W tym kawałku najlepiej uwidacznia się potencjał, jakim załoga dysponuje od lat, aranżacje Unleashed okazały się znakomitym polem do popisu dla Throneum, czego chyba sam zespół był doskonale świadom. Drugą częścią splitu jest Revelation Of Doom, odsłaniający również dwie świeże kompozycje, po których czas na covery Hellhammer - "The Third Of The Stroms", Terrorizer - "Need to Live", w którym gościnnie na wokalach zapiał Jaro z Dead Infection, natomiast w utworze Pandemonium - "Unholy Existance" głosu użyczył sam Paul z tejże kapeli. Oczywiście znalazły się covery Sodom - "Witching Metal" i Blasphemy - "Gods Of War", prezentujące równie zabójczy poziom jak te pozostałe. Odnośnie premierowych kompozycji, to chyba sprawa jest całkowicie jasna. Są one kolejnym krokiem, hołdującym starej szkole "Unholy Goatfuck". Oceniając "Total Regression" nie patrzcie tylko na to jak zagrano poszczególne covery, w jakim świetle prezentują się nowe kompozycje. Tak samo istotnie, a może nawet bardziej jest to, iż kilku zasłużonych muzyków potrafi spotkać się w jednym miejscu i poświadczyć w mistrzowski sposób, że Metal is the Law suckers !!!
