"Na Polach Bitew" ("In The Battlefields" translated) is the latest opus of these veteran heathen Polish warriors, who, with 15 years of trajectory, belong (along with Graveland, Behemoth, Hermn and Sacrilegium) to the revered first wave of Polish Black Metal… This album consist in seven tracks of violent and proud Black/Death Metal hybrid, where the ripping and primitive guitar riffs blended with the chaotic aggressive drumming creates intense epic atmospheres of bravery and savagery. The variety of this album rests in the accurate mix of styles and structures; the guitars play recognizable, mid tuned (sometimes Death Metal sounding) Black Metal riffs, with a somewhat Thrash inspired feeling (even reminding me of the primitive sound of Bathory at some passages) while the savage drumming delivers the most of the chaotic and turbulent aura present at this album with a strong Death Metal feeling. The bass work, even when is not as notable as the other instrument's performance, delivers here some interesting solidness, maintaining a strong pulse behind the drumming and contributing with entire album's powerful sound. The crude vocalizations of Sirkis consist in an extreme blend of mid tuned shrieks and growls, which complemented by the Polish language special pronunciation add an ancient and arrogant feeling, perfectly fitting with the whole ancestral, violent and cruel context… The production of "Na Polach Bitew" is as strong and intense as the music it contains… by the way; the Cd also includes some exclusive artwork by Graveland's mastermind Rob Darken (who also contributed with the song title "Slonca Znak" ("Symbol Of The Sun")). All lyrics on the album are written in Polish, only the song-titles are translated to English, but it's pretty much enough for making a general idea of what these hymns are about… "Na Polach Bitew" is war, death, history and pride in shape of music. North is pure blakc metal violence unleashed from beginning to
end. THis is pure raw and primal black metal full of unholy
lyrics and full of hatred. If you want speed riffs then here you
have plenty of them played with a chainsaw like sound that
remembers early Gorgoroth or early Mayhem. And then you have
ultra fast drumming full of blast beats and hyper fast use of
cymbals and snare drum.The vocals are really extreme, as this
style must have, giving the extra balck metal feeling to the
music of this polish black metal beasts. The sound of
therecording is raw, giving that primal black metal feeling to
the music. Pure hatred coming directly from Poland.

Jedni z pionierów black metalowej fali początku lat 90tych na
ziemiach polskich atakują w barwach Pagan Recs. Sam już nie
wiem, która to w sumie z kolei ich duża płyta. Nieważne, na
pewno jest to materiał zdecydowanie lepszy aniżeli
"Korona", a to akurat jest ostatni materiał NORTH
jaki znam. Płytę rozpoczyna "Wojna Trwa", kawałek,
którego początek ociera się wręcz o death metal i początkowo
na mej gębie malował się niezły rogal zdziwienia. Nic to,
poszło, przeszło i ruszyło z kopyta. Zresztą, materiał ten
momentami wchodzi na death metalowe tory, co tylko chyba
urozmaica i podnosi jego wartość. NORTH pogrywa już parę
wiosen, więc nie ma mowy o braku umiejętności, może kwestia
samych pomysłów pozostawiać by mogła co nieco do życzenia,
ale akurat jeżeli chodzi o "Na Polach Bitew", to jakoś,
pomimo braku przebojowości, lata mi to. Nie mam chyba nastroju
by się dzisiaj czepiać czegokolwiek, tym bardziej iż płyta
się mi podoba. Czytelne, polskie teksty całkiem zgrabnie wypełniają
intensywny pogański metal, będący wypadkową black
("Religia Kłamstwa i Nienawiści" to dobry przykład
na przewagę tegoż gatunku) i jak mówiłem nieco death metalu.
Nie ma tu żadnej wirtuozerii, zbędnego mieszania, jest krótko
i zwięźle, nieco spokojniejszych miarowych dźwięków doświadczymy
w zamykającym "Na Polach Bitew".

The Polish metal scene consist of numerous band playing black or
death metal. North is a member of the pagan black scene and
active since the early 90s. This is their 4th album and contains
7 tracks that have an aural assault like a real battlefield.
Sung in their native language the tunes rage like a stormram.
The drums sound a bit too fast and chaotic which makes it a bit
messy. Guitars are riffing simple structures and doing furious
leads now and then that are oke. Overall this release is a piece
of extremity in the black metal scene that would appeal the
majority.

Na Polach Bitew by the Polish band NORTH is the first of
two Pagan Records releases I recently got. The band info refers
to their style as Pagan War Metal. Well, what came to my mind
reading this term was totally different from what I actually got
to listen. NORTH played raw black metal in earlier days and then
changed to what they call Pagan War Metal. Listening to Na
Polach Bitew (which by the way means “at the
Warfield”), you can still easily detect the old school
Black Metal roots of NORTH. But they added a proper dose of both
death metal and Pagan metal influences to complete their new
style. I am not sure if this mix deserves a new sub genre name,
but the music is at least able to transport an atmosphere of war
and destruction.
Na Polach Bitew starts with fast and rough mostly Black Metal
inspired tracks, but both of the songs to open the album have
some rather calm and not-so-brutal moments and are still quite
melodic. But starting with track three, The Days Of The Sword
(featuring some strange Slayer-like guitar solos), speed and
brutality increase and the melody steps back. In the middle of
the album, above all the track Religion Of Lies And Hatred,
sheer brutality and rage culminate. And with the last tracks,
the album fades over to a more epic and Pagan Metal influenced
ending, marking he final chapter of the battle against the
Christians and their god.
Na Polach Bitew is a well produced, well played ancient wars
soundtrack and worth a listen!

Rauher, kalter Black Metal - dieser Begriff ist mir beim
Bandname North zuerst in den Sinn gekommen, bestanden die ersten
beiden Langspieler "Thorns On The Black Rose" und
"From The Dark Past" doch aus nichts anderem. Nach der
Jahrtausendwende und mit dem Drittling "Korona"
wechselte man jedoch die Stilrichtung und erfreut die geplagten
Tommelfelle dieser Welt seitdem mit einer Mischung aus Death,
Black und Pagan Metal, die sich treffend in der Bezeichnung
Pagan War Metal widerspiegelt.
"Na Polach Bitew" bedeutet ins Deutsche übersetzt
soviel wie "Auf dem Schlachtfeld" und liefert somit
eine exzellente Beschreibung dessen, was der Hörer beim Genuss
dieses Werkes auf sich zu nehmen hat. Als befände man sich
mitten im Kriegsgetümmel drischt Schiessbudler Hellrider auf
seine Felle ein und nimmt den Finger erst nach Ende dieser
42-minütigen Schlacht wieder vom Abzug. Auf hohem Ross sitzend
greifen auch die Saiteninstrumente mit rotierender Streitaxt ins
Geschehen ein und können dem angeschlagenen Tempo folgen, ohne
die Zügel entgleiten und den Sound ins Matschige abschweifen zu
lassen. Die Schreistimme hat sich in den 15 langen Jahren seit
Gründung von North nicht verändert und marschiert tapfer auf
dem Pfade leidenschaftlichen Schwarzmetalls. Die Produktion ist
sehr todesmetalltypisch ausgefallen - so wurde grossen Wert auf
druckvolles Riffing und überhaupt auf die schlichte Dominanz
der Gitarren gelegt, was "Na Polach Bitew" einen
professionellen Anstrich verpasst. Was den sieben enthaltenen
Tracks aber leider völlig abhanden kommt, ist Individualität.
Zwar unterscheidet man sich durchaus von polnischen
Genrekollegen, innerhalb des eigenen Repertoires findet sich
jedoch nur wenig Abwechslung und Ideenreichtum. Da sich die Stücke
allesamt auf gleichem Niveau bewegen, ist es mir nicht möglich,
Höhepunkte zu benennen - entweder man mag das gesamte Album
oder man mag es nicht.
Pagan Records haben mit North zweifelsohne ein gutes Pferd im
Stall und mit "Na Polach Bitew" eine starke Veröffentlichung
am Markt. Jeder, der die Kategorie melodisches Gemetzel
bevorzugt, kommt an diesem Album nicht vorbei. Mir persönlich
hat die Band seit den ersten beiden Langspielern zwar an
Kreativität verloren, kann sich aber in den Spitzenregionen der
polnischen Metalszene behaupten.

Nazwa NORTH ostatnio często przewija się w mediach, a to z
racji wydania nowej płyty, a to przy okazji wznowienia jakiejś
starszej produkcji. Generalnie zespół nie ma na co narzekać -
wielokierunkowa promocja kilku wytwórni robi chyba swoje. Ci
waleczni black metalowcy dalej tkwią w swoim nasączonym pogaństwem,
krwią wroga i nienawiścią do chrześcijaństwa gatunku. Bez
kompromisów i przede wszystkim bez oglądania się za siebie -
taki sposób na przetrwanie w dzisiejszych czasach obrali sobie
Toruńczycy. Nie wiem jak bardzo ewoluował zespół od czasu
debiutanckiego krążka "Thorns on the Black Rose" ale
przy okazji nowego albumu słychać wyraźnie, że nie ma się
do czynienia z amatorami. Muzyka na nowym albumie jest zabójczo
szybka, cholernie wściekła, a przy tym selektywna i
precyzyjnie odegrana. Zakurwiste są momenty, kiedy to opętańczy
black metal przechodzi w miażdżący death i na odwrót. W
zasadzie to wielbiciele klasycznych albumów czerpiących z
epickiego blacku niewiele tu znajdą dla siebie, bo muza ich
zwyczajnie przytłoczy i sprawi, że zaczną ciężej oddychać;
za to fani hiperszybkich blastów, polskich tekstów i ogólnie
klimatu wojennego tak. "Na Polach Bitew" to album
przygniatający intensywnością gitar i nieubłaganą grą
perkusisty, który sprawnie dotrzymuje kroku śmigającym
death/black metalowym riffom. Uwaga! Można odnieść z początku
wrażenie, że płyta odegrana jest na jedno kopyto, w jednym
tempie i przez to nudzi. Ale polecam bliższe zapoznanie się z
tym krążkiem, a zapewniam Was, że rychło odnajdziecie mnóstwo
smaczków nie pozwalających przyporządkować zespół do żadnego
z klasycznych nurtów metalowych. "Religia Kłamstwa i
Nienawiści" poraża niesamowitą prędkością, ale i skłonnością
do melodyjnych (oczywiście z umiarem :) gitar, "Wojna
Trwa" zaskakuje iście vader'owskim wstępem czy nieco później
pseudoakustyczną partią i znakomitą solówką. Takich
charakterystycznych partii można by doszukiwać się w każdym
kawałku, ale to już pozostawiam wam... Nie pożałujecie dłuższego
obcowania z NORTH, którego ostatni album "Na Polach
Bitew" niniejszym rekomenduję :). 8/10

North hail from Poland and they have been around a little bit
more than a decade now. 2006 arrived and so did their fourth
full-length release, the name of it being "Na Polach
Bitew". The Polish black metal scene is pretty big and
underground, having many interesting acts, but i didn't know of
North before, but with the promo of their latest effort i got to
know them i have to say that they are a good band.
If i could give a description to "Na Polach Bitew"
then i would refer to it as a raging and hateful battlecry since
the album flows in pretty high tempos, leaving no trace of
calmness in the horizon. It has some "slower"
passages, but they don't last for so long since the battle is
endless and the war must be won. While listening to the album
you find no mercy, the compositions, 7 in their number, are
powerful, imposing and raging. The guitar riffing is black metal
oriented with the ideal distortions, very powerful riffing if i
may say, creating a surrounding hell, whereas the solos that
burst here and there are quite twisted, something like the solos
you play once and afterwards you forget about how you did it,
something like Slayer in a way. Some more acoustic passages are
always welcome and they have been placed wherever they are
needed. The rhythm section is relentless, ultra fast and
ominous, having a battle feeling at times (like on "In The
Battlefields", ideal title for the song!) drumming that
accompanies in any possible and impossible tempo, yet something
worth-mentioning is the fact that, oddly, the bass lines are
quite vivid, not all the time, but you bear witness of their
existence in the songs, and if i may say they offer some very
creative passages here and there (like on the fabulous
"Religion Of Lies And Hatred"), which was a beautiful
surprise! The vocal lines are raw and full of rage, just like
the soundscapes of North, they are mostly screaming but they are
turning more brutal from time to time, i suppose they are the
ideal vocals for the band and the music they present, completing
the legacy of war being presented through the compositions.
The only thing i didn't enjoy was the cover of the album, it
seems like a scene from a third category Mel Gibson film about
the middle ages wars, i didn't enjoy it at all, but the music
paid me back, making me leave behind the first very bad
impression since the cover plays a first role when you see an
album for the first time, it prepares you for the best or the
worst, this cover prepared me for something not so good, but the
truth signed in the end. The production is dry and raw,
strengthening the sound of the compositions, keeping their
general feeling in terms of atmosphere, without tending to sound
monotonous, on the contrary.
If you're searching for an album with an intense war-like
feeling, primitive and raw power and, of course, a ravenous
black metal aesthetic then "Na Polach Bitew" is an
album you should try out. rating 8.6/10

Het Poolse North speelt extreme black metal met flink wat death
metalinvloeden zoals vele van hun landgenoten dat ook doen. Maar
deze band klinkt niet als Behemoth of soortgelijke bands, nee ze
klinken eerder als een rabiate versie van Immortal tijdens het
'Blizzards Beasts' tijdperk. Zeker het drumwerk is bijzonder
opgefokt, te opgefokt als je het mij vraagt, het leidt de
aandacht af. De gitaren gruizen door wat battles in the north
heen en als de tijd vordert worden deze wat eentonig.
De productie is oké maar niet uitzonderlijk goed. Hetgeen wat
'Na Polach Bitew' redt van overbodigheid is de energie die deze
plaat uitstraalt. Het klinkt zowaar echt als een slagveld, dus
dit kan nog steeds een interessante toevoeging tot een extreme
(black) metalcollectie vertegenwoordigen.

Ayant a leur actif pas moins de cinq albums, ce groupe slovaque
est dans le milieu depuis pas mal d’années…
Ce nouvel album « No Polach Bitew » signé chez
Pagan records est un concentré de black brutal qui nous renvoie
dans les premiers assauts des groupes des années 90’. Des
le premier morceau « Wojna Traw » on se prend des
blasts monstrueux et des vocaux haineux a souhait en pleine
face, sortis tout droit d’un champ de bataille…
Suivit de « Pamie’c Przeszlosci » et «
Dni Miecza » qui sont de véritables titres destructeurs
ayant pour unique référence des tempos rapides alternant
blasts et double. Il faut attendre « Stonca Znak »
ou encore « Krew Bohaterow » pour nous voir offrir
des compositions tres completes en terme de riff, de chant et de
batterie. North finit sur « No Polach Bitew » qui
fait figure de véritable hymne accompagnant nos braves
guerriers a travers des riffs tres entraînants et des arpeges
en son claires tres efficaces… Un album qui se veut avant
tout d’une grande brutalité et d’une grande
barbarie, nous plongeant ainsi directement a l’intérieur
de la plus grande bataille… On entend déja les fracas des
épées!
Cet album se fera largement apprécier par des métalleux tout
de meme aguerris et avide de sensation forte !
Alors enfilez votre plus belle armure et saisissez votre
bouclier puis combattez aux côtés de NORTH !!!

This is a band that can be summed up in one word: Rad! Christ
raping pagan black metal is the order, and Poland's North carry
said order out with precision, savagery and hatred. Like a sped
up version of Graveland, North is a band that couldn't be poser,
even if they wanted to be. No corpsepaint and spikes for these
guys, as the music does all the talking here. With awesome songs
of war and an emphasis on clinging to the "old ways."
North deliver the goods in true kult BM fashion, with no need to
hide behind a silly "Evil" image. Superb. :) -NP

WARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Metal Roarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. This is mind
numbing the brutality of what North possesses here. This is a
strong mix of Slayer, Black metal and 80's metal thrash metal.
Though you can strongly feel the hearts of the ways of the
heathens flowing in the blood of those who create the music of
North. For a moment I almost thought this was Graveland with the
artwork and the strong Bathory worship going on through out the
1st few tracks. North is for sure an aggressive war machine of
metal music. The vocals are spewed from the heart of the viking
warrior with in. Raise your bloody ale horn from the spoils of
war on this one and enjoy.

So so so, that at us here. And here at us again group of Poland
as you could to guess, looking at the name of an album. It is
assured, it is similar to me, you, having read through the name
of collective, have assumed, that the group carrying such name,
will play not that other, as something connected with black
metal. And it is valid, were not mistaken. Group NORTH plays an
interesting mix from black metal, and death metal, in other
words - black/death metal. And music of this band has left
positive emotions. In the first, this quality of a sound, the
Polish sound it is constant, a sound here dense and well
deduced. On music, also, all at a good level. It is the power
combined c black by metal fury, rage and contempt, death metal
capacity, aggression and in density... Variously combined
guitar, cutting as if a poleaxe, the parties, precisely deduced
bass, technical work of the drummer, whistling, stabbing guitar
solo, vocals, as scream, and rattle. Has rather successfully
left at musicians to mix all these metal styles, having weaved
together all the moments inherent in everyone style. The
material has turned out both black metal grasping, and death
metal powerful. I here only do not know, young it is collective,
or old, but, by technical and coordination of musicians even if
the collective and young musicians, it is obvious not beginners
as musicians, and it is visible is unaided. Greater plus on
"Na Polach Bitew" is that fact that sing in the Polish
language, and it, as is known, in similar dark styles very
powerful thing! But there are also translations of songs, by
names - texts and NORTH are not less interesting ("Religion
Of Lies And Hatred", "The Days Of Sword",
"Blood Of The Heroes"...) . The booklet also is issued
within the limits of northern black metal, soldiers in an
armour, going, probably, on a battlefield are represented on

black/death will find metal of a stage for themselves here a lot

Crushing Pagan War Metal? Yep, the press release don't lie: that
exactly how I would describe the 4th album of these Polish black
metal warriors. North started their war against christianity in
the early 90s, together with bands such as Behemoth, Hermh or
Sacrilegium. Their brand new studio album "Na Polach
Bitew" ("On The Battlefields") includes 7 black
metal hymns dedicated to ancient wars, warriors and heroes - again
with lyrics in Polish language. I think that old North fans
exactly knew what to expect, and of course will not be
dissapointed. I'm not sure if North is that known outside Poland
(as should be!), but I can really recommend them - and especially
their new album - to all the fans of black metal heroes such as
Satyricon or Immortal. To sum it up: great sound, great lyrics,
pure rage and fury! No place for religion of lies and hatred...
Only pure fuckin' black metal!

New release from Poland North. "Na Polach Bitew" is one
of fine war pagan releases. It contains 7 songs in lasting of
forty five minutes that will satisfy every war metal fan.
Now for the music; fast rhythms and blastbeats, fast riffs and
furious guitars solos all influenced with war elements will blow
your ears off. Advice: When you listen to the album listen to it
as loud as you can. The music has little melodies, band played
more raw version influenced in some parts with well played solos.
Songs that I recommend are "Wojna Trwa", the opening
songs, that really places you into the battle that North fights
and "Krew Bohaterow as songs which are a little different
from the context of whole album. The whole album is packed in good
production. For the booklet it is pro printed color, the main
picture is warriors marching towards the battle so anyone who buys
the CD will know without listening what the band brings.
For the lyrics well they are in Poland but considering the
translation they are mostly about war. Anyways a really good
release.

Zanim zabrałem się za najnowszy album grupy NORTH chciałem
sobie przypomnieć ich starsze wydawnictwo "Thorns on the
Black Rose", od którego zaczęła się moja przygoda z muzyką
grupy NORTH. Niestety, los okrutny i nieubłaganie płynący czas
sprawił, ze mimo tego, że przeszukałem pół mieszkania, po
owej taśmie nawet śladu nie było. Znajdzie się, kiedy nie będzie
potrzebna. Taki life. Dlatego bez sentymentalnych podróży uraczyłem
się najnowszą ich produkcją.
I tak sie zastanawiam, co ja biedny mogę napisać? Zespół przez
te wszystkie lata troszkę zmienił swoje oblicze z ponurego i
prostego jak chłopski cep black metalu przerodził sie w zespół
grający "Crushing Pagan War Metal", cokolwiek to
znaczy. A jak jest naprawdę? Jest po prostu szybko i bardzo
szybko, przez co materiał ten po wtórnym przesłuchaniu nuży.
Szkoda, ze zespół tworząc dosyć zaawansowane czasowo utwory
nie pomyślał o większym urozmaiceniu tego materiału. Na pewno
taki zabieg podniósłby walory estetyczno-słuchowe. Zwłaszcza,
jeśli chodzi o partie perkusyjne. A, że panowie z NOTRH jak chcą
to potrafią, można się przekonać wsłuchując się w ostatni,
tytułowy numer na płycie, który jest notabene utworem
instrumentalnym. Również sound uzyskany na tej płycie nie jest
czymś zniewalającym czy powalającym na łopatki. Na całe szczęście,
są to jedyne niuanse "in minus" jakie wpadły mi w ucho
po kilkukrotnym odsłuchu tej płyty. A jeśli miałbym pochwalić
teraz zespół, to na pewno będzie to pochwała za umiejętne
wplecenie polskiego języka w te szybkie, mordercze riffy. Płyta
"Na Polach Bitew" jest kolejnym dowodem na to, ze nasz
ojczysty język użyty "z głową" może znakomicie
wkomponować się w muzykę ekstremalną, będąc dodatkowym
atutem dla potencjalnych nabywców. Zresztą wokal Sirkisa na tej
płycie jest wyjątkowym diamentem na tej płycie. Facet idealnie
wypośrodkował swoje struny głosowe pomiędzy growlingiem a
blackowym skrzekiem, przez co "zachrypnięte",
wykrzyczane słowa "Wojna trwa!" trafiają bezpośrednio
w słuchacza, bez żadnej litości. Płyta jest niezła, ale
jeszcze daleko jej do ideału.... żeby chociaż w potężniejszy
i bardziej selektywny dźwięk ubrane były kompozycje z "Na
Polu Bitew" punktacja byłaby dużo wyższa.
Fani twórczości NORTH będą oczarowani tym albumem, wszyscy ci,
którzy uwielbiają pogańskie motywy w metalu również powinni
znaleźć tutaj coś dla siebie, jednak mam obawy, że album ten
nie trafi raczej w gusta rozmanierowanej młodzieży polskiej. Ale
czy w ogóle miał trafić?

Not only does the cover of Na Polach Bitew recall Graveland's
Creed of Iron, Rob Darken contributed artwork to the release. Add
the song title "Symbol of the Sun," as well as the fact
that North appears on the upcoming Eastern Hammer split with
Graveland and Nokturnal Mortum, and my NSBM alarm bells are
ringing double-time
Then again, I can't read the Polish lyrics, and pagan doesn't
necessarily equal NS. So, until I see a translation of the lyrics,
I'll comment solely on the music. North plays "pagan war
metal" with a black metal framework. The seven tracks here
are somewhat similar, with plentiful blasting, melodic tremolo
picking, assertive growls and rasps, and an old-school Bathory
feel. The production preserves rawness while retaining clarity,
especially in the low end.
While the music would make a great soundtrack for battle, I really
wish I understood the lyrics. I don't know if I should be fighting
alongside or against these guys, or simply observing from afar.
Every dollar/euro spent is a political decision, and I don't
believe in uninformed political decisions. Thus, I won't recommend
for or against this album. The music is good, and I'll leave it at
that.

I’m not sure what exactly defines ‘war metal’,
only that you know it when you hear it; is it death metal that has
war based lyrics such as Bolt Thrower, Battalion, Invasion and
Jungle Rot? Or a form of more pagan based, blackened metal that
simply rouses bloodlust and images of battlefields simply due to
the atmosphere, feelings and riff structures such as Aeternus,
Temnozor, Skyforger or Forest of Impaled?
Who knows? But either way, Poland’s veteran but relatively
obscure act plays the latter on their fourth album, and they play
it pretty well.
With song titles and lyrics in their native tongue (but thankfully
with translations) Na Polach Bitew (On The Battlefields) delivers
seven tracks of raging, gritty and vehement blackened pagan war
metal (as if you couldn’t tell from the cover) as only the
Eastern Europeans can deliver. It’s not great, and
it’s a little rough, (but appropriate), but it’s an
acceptable album that plies all the necessary elements into a
furious and primal album, but not quite a must own.
The suitably gritty but not too thin guitar tone has ample menace
while the tortured rasps and militaristic drums are nastier and
more thrashy than the usual black metal affair. Still, though,
none of the songs really got me ready to decapitate my neighbors
with my Pakistan-made broadsword, despite their gusto and pace,
and occasional marching refrain tracks like “Wojna Trwa (The
War Rages On)”, “Dni Miecza (The Days Of The
Sword)” and arguable standout “Krew Bohaterow (Blood
Of The Heroes)” certainly bring the grimness though.
However, the closing instrumental title track is a bit of a
letdown in the intensity department after 40 or so minutes of
pretty ravaging, if throwaway material. There’s probably a
reason North have remained in the shadows of their more recognized
country mates and it’s just the ‘not quite elite
material’, that while, pure and retrospectively feral, is
still a bit forgettable.
